Supernatural: Jensen Ackles in Sympathy for the Devil
H50 - Alex on phone

How exciting was it to have Supernatural back on again?!??! It was surreal to me....I still can't believe that we've gotten another installment to the story of these brothers.  Jensen and Jared were in fine form last night and I really enjoyed everyone in the supporting cast as well.  The new Meg was awesome, Bobby was fantastic, Castiel we had to wait to see but it was definitely worth the wait.  I'm not sure if I'm going to like the guy playing Lucifer, but I'm waiting to see.

Anyway, since this is the Jensen blog, I suppose I should get onto that.  :-P

My favorite funny Jensen moment was when he said that he had a GED.  I just loved the delivery.  I also love that we've found out about Dean's education background.

My favorite serious Jensen moment was the last scene.  I spent the whole episode thinking that Dean was disappointed in Sam and such, but had no idea that his feelings were so deeply hurt by Sam's actions.  I'm hoping that they'll be able to make amends of some sort...but not too quickly because what is Supernatural without some angst.  My heart broke as Dean walked towards the Impala and Sam was left standing there, debating about what he should do....

So what were your favorite moments from Sympathy for the Devil??

I agree with you about the last scene. Jensen is able to show so much with is eyes - the hurt and anger were so evident then.

I was thinking of something I'm sure I have said and others about Jensen Ackles but I will repeat. I have watched a lot of convention videos recently and it amazes me that the minute Supernatural starts and we see the guys my first thought isn't Yay it's Jensen! but rather Yay! It's Dean! Does that make sense? He just *is* Dean to me.

Jensen is able to show so much with is eyes

He just *is* Dean to me.

That's what makes him such a fantastic actor. Any actor that can make you forget "who" he is and just believe that he is the character is just outstanding.

NObody could ever call an Angel an asshat as well as Dean! The writing for this show never ceases to amaze me! Jensen delivers every sarcastic remark Dean makes with such ease and style.

My fav funny was "Shove it with walnuts!"

My fav scene period was when Cas saved them from Zachoriah. He was in like Superman, shocking Zach that he was alive and kicking. He seemed stronger than ever. To find out divine intervention had taken place chalks one up for the REAL good guys! Even tho this is more of a Misha moment than a Dean moment, it was still my fav scene. So much learned that we didn't know. So much to speculate about!

Dean sure does rock that GED!!!

Oh, I loved it when he called Zach an asshat!!! That was classic. And SO Dean!!!

I totally missed the "shove it with walnuts" line! And I even rewatched the episode. Arg. I'm going to have to watch again tonight.

The scene with Cas showing up was really good. I think the thing that bothered me was that Zach didn't try to fight him or help the angels that were with him. I was happy Misha finally showed up for whimsywinx's sake. ;)

I think Zach was in shock, and also, like most bullies, is actually a bit of a coward.

*smishes back*

You are probably right about that...that's the first time we've seen Castiel really fight, so it would be understandable if he was shocked.

(and I just noticed that I have no icons of Castiel. I'm going to have to do something about that)

That is tragic. I need to update my icons. I just never seem to have the time.

I know what you mean. I've also gotten picky about my icons and I can never find any I like.

It is all your fault, you know.

Re: I love Jensen!

Is not.

Is too.

Cas always gets the best entrances!

Yes, he has!!!

Like onemaskedchic I kinda think of it as Dean. So my favorite Dean moment last night was when they were at Chuck's and Dean used the marking to make angels go away. The way he spoke of his friend, Cas, made me feel warm and fuzzy, and sad, because Dean was upset Castiel was (at the time) dead.

That was way cool!! I couldn't figure out why his hand was bleeding at first...

Ok, so my question is - the only ones that have used that type of symbol before is Anna and Cas - both angels. So the fact that it worked for Dean - is that because he's a vessel for Michael? Or can any regular human do that?? (and maybe it doesn't matter and I'm just overanalyzing it. :P )

I kinda think anyone can do it, but it's gotta be in blood.

Maybe we only saw Anna and Castiel use it because only angels knew it?

Hey there (it's me ShutterBugs)

Jensen knocked it out of the park with that final scene!! I am truly worried again about Sam and Dean (and just when I thought they were coming together at the end of last season.) Guess Kripke's going to make us cry some more before throwing us a bone.

The writers for this show are phenomenal. Dean has some of the best lines and Jensen's delivery is so spot on. "Asshat" Love it! He pulls no punches with the evil Zach. I'm on the edge of my seat for next week!

Re: Hey there (it's me ShutterBugs)

Hi Shutter!

I know what you mean - those boys are starting to give me an ulcer! Darn that Kripke!!

I love it when Kripke writes the episodes because he completely nails everything. I knew this would be awesome when I saw that Kripke wrote it. I loved the "asshat" line!!

I'm thinking anyone can do it, because Anna was human when she used it before.

Oh, good point! I was thinking that she was an angel, but she wasn't yet, was she??

Like you, O, my favorite funny Dean moment was the GED line. But he had so many and Jensen delivered them so well. Kripke does write the best Dean zingers. My second favorite was the peanut butter line.

My favorite dramatic Dean moment was him refusing to give in to Zac. "Yes" was not going to cross those lips.

I like the continuity bits too. Going back to the storage place (I still want to know what/who is in that casket!), recalling John's "save him or kill him" command and Dean referring to the lady on TV as "wavy gravy."

However, my biggest WTH?!?! moment was when the fangirl chick looked at Dean and said "And you....aren't what I expected." Seriously chick?! How the hell could you be disappointed if you walked into a hotel room and saw THAT sitting on the bed. I'd be like "JACKPOT!!" :)

PS Jensen's eyes were GORGEOUS last night! My how I've missed them.

"Seriously chick?! How the hell could you be disappointed if you walked into a hotel room and saw THAT sitting on the bed."

I agree! Who could possibly be disappointed with Dean!

I love it when Kripke writes the episodes. He is so good at mixing a little bit of comedy into the dark stuff.

I wasn't worried that Dean would cave to Zach because then the whole season would have had Dean as the vessel and I knew that wouldn't happen. :P

I love that this show does such a great job with the continuity. When did we hear "wavy gravy" before??? (I'm totally blanking on that!)

Yeah, the chick kinda bothered me...maybe it was Kripke's way of irritating Jensen... ;) I don't know, but I surely wouldn't have said that if I were her.

I'm going to have to rewatch for his eyes...they didn't stand out to me...

Seriously chick?! How the hell could you be disappointed if you walked into a hotel room and saw THAT sitting on the bed. I'd be like "JACKPOT!!"

Oh, Ophe, you rock my world.

There were so many great moments last night! I think my favorite funny Jensen moment was in the storage shed, when Zach showed up, "Oh thank god, the angels are here." ALthough I also loved his delivery of the GED line.

The last scene was probably my favorite for Jensen and Jared, they both played it so well. Jensen perfectly portrayed the hurt and betrayal Dean feels, and the look on Sam's face when Dean said he doesn't trust him. I wanted to hug both of them so much!

Ha! I loved his sarcasm with the "Oh thank god, the angels are here". Jensen completely nailed that.

I know what you mean...both the boys deserved hugs...

my fave moment was... ready? the Jensen moment! *hee*

Boy, that's a surprise. ;-)

Hey there!

I agree - I thought it was fantastic!! Everyone did a great job and it's just awesome having Show back. I hope the next hiatus isn't for awhile....

Looking over my notes from rewatch and I will mention this..

I had so bought Dean's speech to Bobby.
"What I've got is a GED and a give em hell attitude." Dean, please be on my team, ANY FREAKING TIME.Even though it was just for Bobby's benefit he had me hook, line, and sinker. I seriously love Dean Winchester. He's not real right? Noone is hiding him in a hotel right?... right?

Me too!!! I thought Dean was being totally serious and meant what he said, but I guess he fooled us!

I'm pretty sure no one is hiding Dean in a hotel...really, pretty sure...

I'm going to have to see it again to pick a favorite moment. But I loved when Dean started in about about the angels and demons going and finding their own planet. I was always hoping it would be Dean and Sam against Heaven and Hell!

Oh, I totally believed Dean when he was going on and on about them finding their own place.

Now, hopefully Dean and Sam can made amends so that it can be Dean and Sam against Heaven and Hell!!

YES! And (to the SN writers) very soon, please!!

(this is maskedchic) i can't sign in for some dumb reason. Any hoo.. totaly irrelevant to mr.ackles - where did you get that pic of Mr.morgan?

Oh, goodness! I'm not sure where I got it. *facepalm* I thought I had it saved, but I can't seem to find the original picture. I'll look around for it and if I find it, I'll send you a link....

OMG @ the season opener

I love Dean (Jensen) and I think that the last scene last night was heartbreaking! Sam should have left that one alone honestly. It was funny when dean was like I got a GED and a give em hell attitude it also appears he has learned his lesson about making deals funniest part to me when he was like he wasnt gonna be an angel condom he is hilarious!

Re: OMG @ the season opener

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode!! Dean was awesome last night and I also liked when he wouldn't cave and just become an angel condom!

What can I say! Everything has been said already. Nothing to add.

I loved the episode, I loved Jensen and Jarod and Jim and Misha...

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode and thanks for stopping by!! :)

Better late than never!!

The ep was great! Jensen, Jared, Jim, and Misha knocked it out of the park!

OK..favorite funny Jensen moment? After Meg kisses him and he says "What is that? Peanut Butter?" I'm not sure why but it made me laugh out loud!

Serious moment...oh man, had to be the end when he tells Sam there's nothing he could do to regain his trust. *sniffles*
